MENTORING

Having the right mentor can be key to a student’s academic success at school or university. Education presents a myriad of wonderful opportunities, but it also presents challenges. How is the student to manage academic pressures; how are they to make the most of cultural and sporting opportunities; and how do they best fit into their new social environment? Our mentors make their students feel confident and supported, and ensure they are making the right decisions for their future.

Mentors begin by ensuring their students have a good routine in place; namely, a proper study schedule along with a good balance between academic, sporting, and cultural activities, with sufficient down-time built in.

Once a proper schedule is settled, mentors set academic goals to help the student realise their objectives through ongoing pastoral support, time-management and revision strategies. Mentors remain in contact with their students on a weekly basis, making certain they remain on track.
