TUTORING

OUR APPROACH

One-to-one tutoring is the best way of realising academic potential. It is able to address the particular needs of the individual student that the classroom teacher has not the time to handle or see. It is also the best way to inspire the student to learn for there is nothing comparable to the personal encouragement of a tutor. In the end, the tutor’s nurturing presence together with the focused nature of the instruction effectively concentrates the mind the student on achieving his or her aspirations, whatever they may be.

High-Quality Tutoring

At Chapkin Edwards we hire only the very best tutors. Every one of our tutors has is a graduate of a world-class university. All are of good character, have superb academic records and a proven ability to educate and communicate. Every tutor has either taught at Britain’s best schools and universities and/or has a strong track record as a private tutor. Many are highly accomplished in other careers, speak multiple foreign languages and boast talents in sport, drama, art and music.

However, our tutors are more than educators. By virtue of their own accomplishments, they are role models. They know through their own experience how to achieve academic success.  They are thus able to instil the necessary composure, confidence and work-ethic that are needed if the student is to succeed.

Tailored to each child’s needs

Chapkin Edwards does more than simply provide families with high-calibre, experienced professionals. Through our comprehensive matching process, we identity the tutor that is the perfect fit for each family. In addition to being fully competent to deal with a child’s academic needs, we make certain the tutor’s personality, interests and values suit both the student and their family. Once in post, we work with the tutor to craft a tutoring programme specifically tailored to the needs of the individual student.

Delivered through
our personalised service

We begin our service with an in-person consultation. We need, in order to design a truly effective tutoring programme, an understanding of the student’s academic level together with their personality and interests. We also require an appreciation of a family’s lifestyle and long-term aspirations for their child.

Once we have obtained the required understanding, we design the broad strokes of a tutoring programme tailored to child and family. We then proceed to match the family with the right tutor. Parents are presented with a selection of excellent candidates and are given an opportunity to interview each of them. Once a tutor has been chosen and in place, we monitor their delivery of the tutoring programme by way of regular feedback and reporting, assessing progress and, where required, instructing additional experts.
